Is there something on my face?

I was looking through recent photos and when I saw this one it made me laugh out loud (even though I've seen it before). How is it that kids (and my brother Jason) always manage to get half of whatever they are eating all over their faces?

What is it with the animals around here?

I feel like animals and bugs are flocking to our house to give us the ultimate Australian experience or something. Last night a bat got caught between this wooden window shade and our bedroom window. It was freaking out and bouncing around the window because it couldn't get out. Of course we had to take a picture of it before Nate set it free.

This was my first time seeing a bat up close! Kinda freaky...

I'm It

I have been tagged to post the 6th picture in the 6th folder under the pictures folder.

This is Christmas 2007 at Nate's parents house. Nate's sister Whitney is helping Jonas open his presents. Here is something crazy...I decided I would go to the family photos and choose the 6th pic in the 6th folder just to make sure it was actually a picture of a person instead of maybe a picture of a car, random stuff Nate pulls offline to use in power points, or stuff we sold on ebay. This is the picture I found. But when I went to the 6th actual folder under pictures it was also a picture of Whitney but from Christmas of 2004! I guess she was just destined to be on my blog. Love you Whitney.

So now I get to tag some lucky people. I choose Whitney (how could I not?) and Carol cause I want to get you blogging!!

The View

This is what I saw yesterday when I looked out my kitchen window. How cool is that bird? I was really hoping to get some of the pears growing in my neighbors yard some day but after the birds are done picking at them I'm not sure there will be any left!

New Shirts

This is mostly so Carol can see my new shirts. I was just so proud of myself that I got 3 new shirts for under $30. I see I haven't lost my bargain hunting skills. I wish I could have found something patterned! Maybe next time.

A Nice Day

We have been having temperatures in the 30's (90's in Fahrenheit). When it gets that high it is just too hot to go outside for long periods of time. I don't know if I've ever mentioned that there is a shortage of ozone around here, so the UV radiation is pretty intense. I was reading a pamphlet in a doctor's office a while ago that said during this time of year you should have some sort of protection from the sun (hats, sunscreen, etc) if you are planning on being outside for more than a couple of MINUTES. That is why in a lot of our outside pictures Liam and Jonas have on those full brimmed hats. I didn't realize any of this until we had been here for a while. We went to a park and out of the 15 or so kids there, Liam and Jonas were the only ones without their hats on! I am sure all of the mom's were thinking what a bad mom I was!

Friday was going to be a really nice day at 25 degrees (77 F) and I didn't have to be to work until the afternoon so we thought we'd make the best of it. Especially since the following week the temps are back up in the 30's. I took the boys in the car and Nate rode his bike and we met up at a nice park right on the lake. Here are a few pictures from our day.
