Trunky

I have enjoyed our time spent in the Philippines but if I'm being honest I just want to go back to Australia! In honor of only 3 weeks left I have come up with a list of the things I am looking forward to in Australia...

1. Hot showers
2. drinking water from the tap
3. our ward, callings (church)
4. Friends
5. driving myself around
6. not standing out in a crowd
7. internet that works, is fast and reliable
8. rules when driving
9. a real mattress (did I ever mention we have been sleeping on a 3 inch foam pad for 4 months?)
10. Liam and Jonas having baths (instead of showers)
11. quiet (no roosters, karaoke, loud motorcycles at all hours, basketball, fighting cats...)
12. speaking the same language
13. cheese (I might just buy a big brick of it and dig in. I'm not even joking!)
14. vegetables (we have been really disappointed with the veg here)
15. my sewing machine (I bought a bunch more fabric for a 'Philippines quilt')
16. microwave
17. blow drying, straightening my hair
18. being busy (you may think I am crazy but imagine being stuck in a 2 bed apartment for 4 months with 2 small children, nothing to do and not being able to drive yourself around. It is BORING!!)
19. wearing make up (other than mascara)
20. hot water from the faucets

Don't worry, I have another list of things I will miss about the Philippines but I'll save that for another time.

Ark Avilon

A family from church invited us to go to a little animal park called Ark Avilon last week. All 8 of us piled into our little Nissan Sentra and drove there together. Our favorite part was this little guy below. His name is Colin and he sat on a bench all day with his trainer and posed for pictures. So cute. At first we just got pictures of Liam and Jonas with Colin but after walking around for a while I couldn't resist so we went back to get more.

The family we went with. Isn't their little girl so cute?! She likes to look at Nate during church and when he looks at her she hides her face in her parent's shoulders and/or cries. He is determined to get a smile out of her before we leave!

Liam and Jonas got to feed the guinea pigs and rabbits a carrot on a stick.

A cool swing in the play area.

After all of the animals we saw the highlight for Liam was the fish pond! He kept going back to them, sitting on the edge of the pool and watching them.

The highlight of the trip for Nate was the tiger. When Nate walked up to glass to look at him he growled at him. The cages were pretty small and the glass on the outside didn't seem thick enough to hold back a hunger/angry tiger. After that he was a little nervous to walk back by the tiger cage.
