The Name Game

The other day Nate and I were looking up girl names (don't worry, this is not an announcement! It takes us a while to agree on names so we figured we should get a (very) early start.) Nate found this site Behind the Name that randomly generates names based on what category you pick. Here are some it came up with for us.

Norwegian: Ester Andrea

English: Angela Tilly

Irish: Naome Ide

Finnish: Iima Riina

German: Wilhelmina Petronella

Danish: Magdalene Agnethe

Spanish: Juliana Maite

Russian: Klava Feodora

Italian: Calogera Lora

French: Mirabelle Francette

Literature: Araminta Vivien

Transformer: Eject Sixshot

Fairy: Jellygaze Glitterberry

Hillbilly: Dolly-Sue Molly-Sue

I would actually mix two. My vote is Mirabelle Vivien.

I think that has a nice sound to it. Or Mirabella...she could go by Mira. I think that sounds way cute! Hmm...I agree that it's good for you to get a very early start. ;) Although chance may have you have to come up with another boy name--that'd be crazy!

I'm keeping that website away from the boys. They were already trying to offer me some baby names for the children I have yet to have :) They're pretty anxious. Ha ha.

Hey hey! No boy talk! I am trying to send only girl vibes here!

Crys - that cracks me up that they are giving you baby names! I guess at least you know they are open to the idea of more siblings.

You didn't say which one is your favorite!

My advice is to not pick one out TOO soon. We picked out our girl's name early in our marriage... Tara Brooke. Now you know we don't have one of those. That's because of 2 reasons. When we finally found out Kaylyn was coming, I was really tired of the name and I felt that the name wasn't right for this baby. So we picked Kaylyn. But I've heard it from others that they've gotten tired of a name after years of waiting.

Of course, since we're done, you can use Tara Brooke.

Eden - sorry to say I don't really like any of them enough that I would use the name. :) I just thought it was fun to look at and see what the site would generate for each of the places. It will take us much longer to narrow it down to even a few names we sort of like. I will make sure we don't definitely decide on any one though. I can see how you might get sick of a name after a while.

What about fisher names like Brook Trout, Salvelinus Fontinalis (my favorite), or Steelhead Catcher (it even has a hint of baseball/softball)?

Wow Jason. Those are some awesome suggestions! I think I'll save them for you though. I wouldn't want you and Julie upset with me for stealing your baby names! ;)
